Where should I host my web site for the best Internet marketing results?
As a company based in Canada and working with clients in the UK, US and Canada, we are asked this question all of the time. The reason we are able to work with clients all over the world is the World Wide Web and its ability to allow anybody, anywhere to view what we do.
With this in mind you would expect our answer to be: host with whoever gives you the best value for money. In fact, this is not the answer. Google and the other major search engines all have country based versions of their search engines and will normally offer their visitors the ability to see results delivered for sites just in that country. The question is, ‘How do they decide where the results are coming from?’
This is a 2 phase process, which in many cases can be totally inaccurate.
1). If your domain name has one of the many country specific extensions, they conclude that your site must be related to that country, and where it is hosted is totally irrelevant. What we mean by this is a .co.uk domain could be hosted in Canada but will still show up as a UK result.
2). If your domain name has one of the generic domain extensions, .com .net .org .edu, the location of your site is based on where you host your site. So if the IP address that it returns shows as a Canadian location, your site is regarded as Canadian.
In both of these cases it is easy to see that your site can turn up in the wrong results. If you have a generic based domain, your host should be in the country where you want your business to be found. If your site is geographically based, that would be the place to host it. If you are offering services to a worldwide market, the US would be as good as any as they offer a huge share of the Internet traffic. Once you decide the country, look at the services that you need and go with a host that provides them, and always try and take a look at other sites that they host for speed comparisons, etc. You don’t want to lose your visitors because your host delivers your site at a snails pace.

Making Money On The Internet Is No Easy Task
There are many so called experts on the internet that claim that making money on the internet is every bit as easy as wiping your butt after using the bathroom. And they of course will give the "inside secrets", for a price. In my experience many such offers are a scam, and the information that you receive for your money is full of more fluff than crème filled donut from your local supermarket. In most cases you can get information that's just as good by searching article directories.
Don't let anyone fool you, making money on the internet is exactly like making money in any form of business. Remember the Internet is just a way to do business. Just like the telephone or direct mail are ways of doing business. Contrary to popular belief, making money in any form of business is a process and not at all an easy task.
The task can become easy and fun in time, but it's not going to start out that way. There are many things that you must learn in order to make money on the Internet, or anywhere else for that matter. It's kind of like riding a bike. Did you jump on a bicycle the first time you ever saw one and ride off? No you had to fall down and keep trying in order to learn how to ride a bike. Making money on the internet, or anywhere else, uses the same principle.
The bottom line is that making money on the internet simply isn't a simple and easy task, and anyone that tells you that this is the case has their best interest in mind, not yours. You can make money on the Internet, just realize that it takes time and effort, and it's not going to happen overnight. The best weapon that you have at your disposal is educating yourself. Good luck and remember what Henry David Thoreau said, "Do not hire a man who does your work for money, but him who does it for love of it." Your internet venture should be done because you love it, not for the money.

How to Make a Strong and Secure Password That You Can Actually Remember
Passwords are everywhere these days. You need a PIN for your ATM card, a password for your cell phone voice mail - I even have to have a password to call my mom (just kidding). And that doesn’t even begin to take into account all the computer and online Internet passwords.
I’m going to give you a few tips on how to create a secure password, but one that’s not too difficult to remember.
The first thing you need to avoid is any word that can be found in the dictionary. Let’s take, for example, the name of my website, ThatTechBlog.com. A bad password would be “that” or “tech” or “blog” but a better password would be “thattechblog” since thattechblog is not a word in the dictionary.
But what’s an easy way to make the password thattechblog even more secure without making it too hard to remember? Well, one way is to use some capital letters since most passwords are case sensitive. An easy way would be ThatTechBlog. That’s a little too easy for someone else to guess, however, so a better option would be to capitalize the last letter of each word, like this: thaTtecHbloG.
Now, let’s get a little more sophisticated. What I’ll do now is show you how to replace some of the letters with numbers, but still make it fairly easy to remember. Since a capital E looks like the mirror image of 3 we’ll make that change so now we have thatt3chblog as the more secure password. Other number for letter replacements would make your password look like this: thatt3chb10g. As you can see I’ve replaced the E with 3, the L with 1, and the o with 0 (zero).
To make a password even stronger you may want to insert symbols to replace letters, giving you a password like this: th@ttechb!og.
These examples are all fairly easy to remember and are much more secure than a dictionary word. Here’s another password that is fairly easy to remember, however it is kind of hard to type: rglrrwxgvkif. At this point you may be asking, “How can that password be easy to remember?!” Stop reading right now and take a look at your keyboard and see if you can discover the system.
Did you see what I did? I took each letter from thattechblog and moved one letter to the left on the keyboard. T became R, H became G, etc. Since the A is all the way on the left side you replace it with L, just like you would replace Q with P or Z with M.
Now, if you really want to make a strong password you can combine the above methods and turn thattechblog into rg@Rrwxgv1if. That may be a little complicated just to check your Yahoo email, but for online banking I’d recommend getting a little creative and use one or more of the methods and not just using a password like “money” or something.
It looks like passwords are here to stay, so be creative, have a little fun, and make your online activities more secure.
